Joanne in Morocco (2023)

This was a last minute trip. I booked in late December and left in late January.  I finally caved to age and laziness and booked a tour.  I loved it!  I had the best group which made all of the difference.  Morocco is a beautiful, diverse country full of colour and things to buy.  Birding is sparse but  cats were everywhere.  Almost made up for the lack of birds. I made a quick day layover in Paris, I rode a camel in the Sahara, I accidentally commissioned a painting in Chefchaouen, we danced at a World Cup champion's signing party in Mhaya Village, and I went on a balloon ride over Marrakesh!  It was a trip!

Joanne and Amy in Argentina and Antarctica etc. (2022)

This was the MOST AMAZING TRIP EVER! And you know that's saying a lot considering all of the trips I've been on.   We started with a week in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a day in Montevideo, Uruguay. Then onto our three week cruise to the Falklands Islands, South Georgia Island (this is what made the trip so amazing!), a couple of days around and on Antarctica and then back to Argentina.  If you like pictures of penguins, you are going to love this blog!

(2021) Joanne and Valerie on Vancouver Island

https://joannecumberland17.blogspot.com/

I'm not sure if you have heard about it but this situation called Covid happened so there hasn't been much travelling in the last couple of years.   But I had to get away! But I didn't want to leave home.  So, I compromised with myself and planned an island trip.  And then convinced Val to join me.  Just a week, but a very beautiful week.

(2020) Joanne and Valerie in Peru

Valerie and I spent a month is southern Peru.  We went in the low season and lucky we did!  We got home in late Feb 2020 and then the world shut down and Peru's borders slammed shut, trapping many tourists.  But that all happened after we got home so it is not reflected in my blog.  We had a great time, coast, mountains, desert, Machu Picchu!  Pisco, penguins, alpacas, cats, shopping, eating, hiking, climbing.  Mummies!  Peru is amazing, beautiful and diverse.
